Members of the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Microsoft Imagine Cup Software team (Team Left Clik), who left the Island on Wednesday July 1, 2009 for Cairo Egypt to compete in the world finals, received scholarships totalling $974,600.00.

Coming from a head of state, the words were unusual—even startling. But the Honourable Doctor Patrick Linton Allen, ON, CD, is no ordinary head of state. Indeed, the sixth governor-general of Jamaica is not only the first Seventh-day Adventist to hold this revered post in his native land; he’s the first Adventist pastor to have been elevated to the job anywhere.
