Pastor Karl Archer was installed as president of the North Jamaica Conference following his election which took place on Sunday January 10, 2010. Pastor Gary Buddoo-Fletcher, formerly Youth Director, succeeds Pastor Archer as secretary and Elder Dane Ellis, was reelected treasurer. Other departmental directors were also elected during the Inaugural Conference Session of North Jamaica.
Main speaker Pastor Israel Leito, President of the Adventist Church in Inter-America.In accepting the responsibility of being the leader of the team to chart the spiritual course of the Conference, the 42 year-old leader said, “The times in which we live calls for bold, decisive spiritual leadership. We commit to the values of love, zeal and fervor, and moral integrity. God demands this of all of us; of all pastors and spiritual leaders, especially from this new administration. We cannot rest. We dare not rest until by God’s grace success is achieved in Christ.”

Earlier in the service Pastor Israel Leito, President of the Adventist Church in Inter-America reminded the new leadership that the Church is the Body of Christ, and everyone must give all they have to support it.

You are leaders of God’s Church. It is only as you understand the voice of Christ and listen to Him that you can lead this body of Christ.”
A graduate of West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University), Pastor Archer earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology in 1992 and is presently pursuing a Masters Degree in Pastoral Ministry – Leadership and Human Resource Management. He entered the Pastoral Ministry on February 1, 1993, and was ordained in 1998.

There he served as Stewardship Director, Youth Ministries Director, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries and Community Services Director, along with a pastoral district assignment.
He married Elesa Marsh in 1995. She stands by his side, and has contributed significantly to all areas of his ministry.

The Conference currently comprises the parishes of St. Ann and Trelawny, after a re-organization in 2006. Thirteen thousand, five hundred members presently worship in 77congregations.
